Last week FSSC 22000 was present at the Global Food Safety Conference in Kuala Lumpur. Over 900 top food safety professionals from over 50 countries were present to advance food safety globally. The conference was officially opened by the Malaysian Minister of Health. The program focused on Food Safety: a Shared responsibility. World’s largest manufacturers, retailers and important food experts talked about topics like reducing food safety risks and food safety culture. Chairman of FSSC 22000, Fons Schmid, presented on the Do’s and Don’ts in preparation for and during GFSI benchmarked scheme audits. The take away from this conference is that securing the future of food is our shared responsibility. FSSC 22000 will build on this take away and the outcome of the breakfast session that was held during the conference and in which almost 100 people have participated.
